Part qualified Audit Semi-Senior, Northampton

Audit semi-senior reporting to audit managers & seniors and supervising junior members of the audit team.

Main duties:

  • Carrying out audits with turnover up to £30 million, including specialist audits e.g. pensions, solicitors, charities and schools
  • Assisting more senior staff as part of a team and leading smaller audits
  • Working with minimal supervision, to deadlines and within budget.
  • Supervision of staff
  • Drafting statutory accounts from client information in compliance with relevant accounting standards
  • Preparation of draft business tax computations
  • Larger accounts preparation jobs
  • Where applicable drafting recommendations to management post audit
  • Use of computer packages including Pro Audit, CCH Accounts Production, Sage 50, Excel and Alphatax.

Qualifications/education required

  • Part qualified ACA or ACCA
  • Educated to degree level

Experience required

  • Mixed audit and accounts experience gained from working in Public Practice with a large independent firm of accountants or a Top 50 firm.
  • Experience in completing audit files for review by Manager / Partner.
  • Good communicator and be able to deal confidently and effectively with both clients and staff colleagues.
  • Experience in dealing with both pure audit assignments and incomplete accounting assignments and be able to demonstrate the ability to work within deadlines and budgets.

Manager / Senior Accountant – Northampton

Due to current and future growth plans they are looking for a bright and able qualified Accountant with the experience and ability to manage the day to day requirements of a portfolio of clients.

You would be given your own clients to look after and would be responsible for the organisation of work, overseeing all the compliance work, supervising junior staff, reviewing their work and handling client meetings.

The role would include a responsibility for the training of staff which is a fundamental aspect to the firm’s business development. ACA / ACCA Qualified Audit Senior, northampton

Opportunity for a qualified ACA/ACCA with experience in accountancy and audit gained from working within Public Practice to join a Top Tier firm.

Audit and Accounts Senior

We are recruiting for an ACA / ACCA finalist or qualified Senior to work closely with one of the Partners in managing a portfolio of clients ranging from sole traders and partnerships to small limited companies with turnover typically being no higher than £10m.

Working alongside the Partner you will be involved in dealing with clients and in time will progress towards managing this established client portfolio. There are long term prospects for progression to Partnership, though it is not an essential aspiration for securing the role.

The role will combine client and staff management so experience in these areas would be preferred and in particular to have the ability to deal with clients directly. The client requirements will largely be in respect of audit, accounting and tax.

Initially you will be taking on a role to assist with maintaining the portfolio but will be involved in business development in due course as you assist with the long term development of the firm.

The Person You will be an ACA / ACCA finalist or qualified with a General Practice background and experience in dealing with the audit, accounting and tax requirements for small Owner Managed Businesses.

There is flexibility in the role and the firm can accommodate a finalist looking for a step up to senior level or an experienced senior. It is a varied and interesting role which will provide considerable client exposure and also the opportunity to get involved in other areas such as Forensic Accounting.

Experience in business development with the ability to maintain and develop the client base within the firm would be useful, but if you do not have this experience, the enthusiasm to be involved in business development is equally important.
