Finance Manager – Stevenage

Finance Manager, 12 month Fixed Term Contract, Management Accounting, Stevenage, to £50,000

Our client based in the heart of Stevenage is looking for a Finance Manager to join their team on a 12 month fixed term contract.  If you enjoy operating in a fast-moving environment – This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced environment with supportive and engaging management.  As the Finance Manager you will be looking after a team of 5 transactional team members where you will aid and support these individuals, your role will be varied and demanding.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Timely month end close
  • Assist with the preparation of Financial Statements
    • Prepare Debtor / Creditor schedules
    • Prepare expenses schedules
    • Prepare schedules for accruals & prepayments
  • Manage the Finance Team’s work on a daily basis and act as backup cover for tasks
    • Manage the accounts payable and expense processing functions
    • Manage the sales ledger to ensure any issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner
    • Ensure all transactional ledgers are update
    • Weekly and bi-weekly review of bank reconciliations
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
    • Maintenance of Fixed Assets register
    • Manage daily processing of payments & assist with authorising larger payments
    • Assist with the preparation of Board reports
    • Assist with cash flow forecasting
    • Assist with the budgeting and forecasting
    • Review currency gains and losses and report on a daily basis
    • Prepare schedules for annual audit and coordinating with external auditors
    • Ad-hoc reporting/analysis
    • Prepare and assist in preparing regulatory and VAT returns
    • Support the Financial Controller on process improvement and reporting
    • Assist in resolving queries raised by other departments
    • Perform any other assigned tasks as required

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Qualified, Part Qualified or QBE level with recent experience in a similar role will all be considered
Experience using Sage and proficient on Microsoft Excel to advanced level
Staff supervision and guidance skills is a must.
