Working in recruitment consultancy is enormously rewarding, both financially and in terms of the team spirit engendered within a sales environment. To be fair it is the closest that you are likely to come to running your own business without actually having to do it yourself! Working for Abacus Consulting, your earning potential will be extremely high and if you have the talent and are prepared to put in the hours you could enjoy a happy and very lucrative career with us.
So what are we looking for in a recruitment consultant?
A Typical Day
Is there one? Probably not is the answer. However there are some core activities which may give you a flavour for what you would be doing on a day to day basis:
Training
We offer a comprehensive induction programme which consists of systems training, technical jargon training relevant to the accountancy sector and core sales techniques training. All the managers in our business have a wealth of recruitment experience so on the job mentoring and coaching is very much an ongoing process. In addition we deliver in house training courses geared toward heightening your commercial skills and gaining control over how you make your desk as financially rewarding as possible.

Case Study
Mo has worked for us for 6 years and this is what she has to say………
“ I have worked in recruitment for nearly 12 years and Abacus was my first move into a specialist recruitment sector. I still love the thrill of winning business with a client and feel a real sense of achievement when I have helped a candidate find the right job that will enhance their career. I have to say that working for Abacus is different to my other employers because, whilst the job fundamentally does not change from one agency to the next, the team atmosphere and management support does differ enormously. I have always felt very supported by my manager’s and feel that I am fairly rewarded financially for my successes. Most of all though I work with a great team of people whom I count as friends more than work colleagues.”
